Yep, finally going on a cruise. We are pulling out of NOLA on saturday for a tropical cruise to Mexico. I have always wanted to go on a cruise but just never did it. My oldest son will be getting married right before the cruise and will be joing us on the boat. I do not think he has realized the fact that his mother is going with him on his honeymoon. Could be worse I guess, it could be his mother-in-law instead.
Of course, if I had my say so, it would be an Alaskan cruise. But I do not have a say so in this matter. I am married remember? Not that I do not like Mexico but darn it, I have already been to and seen beaches. I doubt seriously that I will ever spot a polar bear ice fishing in Florida. I will bring back lots of pictures and according to my wife, I will do lots of shopping. A cruise right before Christmas... and I think my wife has poor planning skills. Guess she is just sneakier than I give her credit for. And I just had to have a room with a balcony for my first cruise. No sense in going on a cruise and not being able to sit on the balcony in my boxers and drinking a cup of coffee in the morning. She of course did not want to waste the extra money on a balcony suite. We will never be in the room she argued but I knew the real motive in her disagreement. It would take away some of her shopping money.
Former Member , 4 years ago | FlagCongrats, Me and My wife are going on our honeymoon, which is also a cruise to Mexico. We are leaving out of the Port of Galveston. (I tend to avoid going to New Orleans, never have been a fan) We are going on a 5 night cruise to Cozumel and Progresso. All this because a few days after our wedding we bought a livingroom set, lol. The ironic thing was I originally was going to get a suite in galveston, and we got the cruise as part of a promotiona l package. Btw people, just because the cruise is free, remember, for two people on a five night cruise, The port cost and taxes are around $400, and depending what you do on land, can be another 200 to 500, plus activities on the boat. And you need a passport, which is another 100 per person. But in the end, we still got a great deal and a once in a lifetime trip for a honeymoon 4 months after the wedding
